Participants will be learning to combine pulley and gear systems as they build and race their electric cars. The goal will be for each child to build a car that goes both fast and straight.
Bell Homestead National Historic Site
Alexander Graham Bell & 100th Anniversary of the Silver Dart, kite making with tetrahedral cells; the roles of Baddeck women in this historic event.
Hands on circuits, a few vintage transistor circuits and a Morse code challenge with a basic circuit.
Huron County Library Maker Technology
Kano computers, cubelets, Keva Planks and the QB Maze.
Ingenium: Canada Science and Technology Museum
Visit the temporary travelling exhibit Iron Willed: Women in STEM and take part in fun activities for the whole family.
St. Thomas STEAM Centre
Display of curious 3D printed, laser cut and CNC carved items to present. 3D scanner and TV for the chance to see a 3D avatar of yourself. Huge, medium and tiny tiny tiny vortex cannons – with the opportunity to make your own tiny tiny tiny one.
University of Waterloo: Earth Science Museum
Our Minerals in Your Materials. Explore your stuff, how it’s made and where it’s materials come from! Staff from the University of Waterloo’s Earth Sciences Museum will provide mineral specimens to touch and feel and point out what minerals are in your materials and where they come from in Canada.
