Join us to celebrate National Historic Places Days in 2024! On Saturday July 13th, admission will be free all day at both the Huron County Museum and the Huron Historic Gaol. While you’re visiting, make sure to snap a picture and enter Historic Places Days photo contest!
Happening at the Gaol
Musician Marcel Gelinas will be playing a musical set from 11:00 to 2:00 in the gaol courtyard
The Hometown Harpist will be playing in the governors house from 1:00-3:00pm.
Three games of trivia will be running on the second floor of the governor’s house at 11:00, 1:00, and 3:00. There will be prizes for the winners! Take part in yard games in the courtyard of the gaol ,available to guests all day! Check out our selfie spots including: the cell door in front of gaol and our mugshot backdrop in Cell Block 2.
Happening at the Museum
The Dominion of Canada Reenactment Corps will be onsite. Participate in the Military Gallery scavenger hunt by finding matching cap badges on display, and get a sweet treat as a prize.
