The museum will be displaying antique tractors, traction engine, stationary engines and farm exhibits.
We will have a contest of strength by inviting local teams to try to pull a 1/2 scale traction engine over a distance of ten feet in the quickest time.
Also to raise money for our future General store build we’ll be having a pie auction for the adults. For the kids only they can bid for sugar cookies.
Also a Meal to the Field competition. Where anyone can enter your typical and maybe not so typical meal taken to farm hands to eat. The entries will be judged by a local Home Economist and prizes will be awarded,
Kids games will consist of Bean bag toss, Train ride , axe throwing , and others.
Live band will be onsite to provide entertainment.
Static displays will consist of various local grain samples with an explanation of their uses. Old fashion weigh scales to try your hand at weighing grain. There will be a display showing different eras of farming from Horse -steam- to today. You can hand grind some wheat, oats, corn and other grain to see what you get.
Is there a difference in farming in Canada compared to other countries like England?
A concession will be available selling hotdog, chips and drinks. For something different Cornish pasties, sausage rolls and pork pie will be available. Don’t forget to leave room for a prairie favorite Butter tarts !
Entry to the site is by donation at this time cash only. All buildings will be open for tours .
