Two great performances this evening on our historic stage:
Delta Concert Band – Now in its 61st year, the Delta Concert Band’s repertoire includes a wide range of music from popular favourites, to more traditional wind band music. Under the baton of Jim Tempest they strive to support school band programs by sharing the stage at concerts, coaching students and provide an annual bursary to a graduating student from the Delta School District who will be pursuing a degree in Music or Music Education. Jim works to encourage community-based music through active membership in the World Association of Symphonic Bands & Ensembles, the Canadian Band Association and the British Columbia Band Association.
Ho’okani
Ho’okani plays rootsy, authentic Hawaiian music. Their music is from the Hawaiian monarchy of the 1800’s, the Golden Age of the 1930’s and 40’s, the Hawaiian Renaissance of the 1970’s and today. They are often joined by Don Kellett (steel guitar) and local Hula dancers.
