Set in Montebello, halfway between Gatineau and Montréal, Manoir Papineau is a page straight out of 19th century history that opens right before your eyes: the grand estate of Louis-Joseph Papineau, a leading figure in Canadian politics, where a manor house with four towers stands proudly.
Notes from "Parks Canada Celebrates the Year of the Garden"

The family museum, a heritage building just steps away from the manor house, is hosting the exhibition Papineau and the Heritage village presented by our partner, the Société historique Louis-Joseph Papineau. Visitors will be able to appreciate objects from everyday life in the era of the seigneury of La Petite-Nation; old pictures of the village, and some sculptures. A relaxation area and a photo area offering chic bourgeois accessories will be available to visitors to capture their country memories. Visit the website for all the details.
The manor house is also continuing its partnership with the Réseau BIBLIO de l’Outaouais for the Borrow Culture program. Through this partnership, citizens who are members of the network’s libraries will have free access (valid for the daily rate) to Manoir Papineau by borrowing a museum card available at participating libraries.
