Britannia Mine Museum is an award-winning National Historic Site located between Vancouver and Whistler, BC and on the Howe Sound, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Underground tours daily! COVID protocols in place. Limited site capacity: bookings at www.bcmm.ca

The Museum celebrates contributions of mining and minerals to society, the history of the storied Britannia Beach community and the ideas and practices of environmental renewal and sustainability. We promote mining awareness through entertaining, experiential education programs, important historic collection preservation and insightful public engagement.

Fun Facts

Running from May 20 to September 5, the “More than a Mine: Recreation in a Mining Town”  new summer exhibit takes a nostalgic historical throwback to how Britannia residents enjoyed their recreational life during the mining days, and how social gatherings helped strengthen and build the resiliency of a remote mining town.  Open Daily.
